Hunting Lions in the Air Contest

this annual contest is conducted by the International Association of Lions
Club, Illionis USA and Co-Oridinated by Lions Club Flen, Sweden and this
year it will be the 25-Silver Jubliee Annual event

Objective:

"To create and foster a spirit of International and Co-operation" among
amateurs and Lions through worldwide communications. The contest is to
commemorate the birthday of the founder of Lionism Melvin Jones, born at
Ft. Thomas Arizona USA on Jan 13, 1879

the contest is open to ALL LICENCED RADIO AMATEURS NON-LIONS
- Class I  LIONS 
- Class II (Note Class II also includes Non-Lions who represent a Local Lion
           Club) Station is Class II must sign "Lion" or "/L" such a station
           represents a member of a Lions, Lioness or Leo Club

Contest Period:

Operation is limited to 24 hours out of 36 hours contest period. 12 hrs off
may be taken at any time but at not less than one hour period. Listening
time is counted as operating time

RS(T) plus a serial number, Class II operators should also log Lions Club

- outside your country - two

BONUS POINTS:
QSO with a station in Class II receives one or more of the following:
10 - extra points for QSO with members of Lions, Lioness,Leo Club from a
     different country.
 5 - extra points for QSO as above within your country.
10 - extra points for QSO with members of Melvin Jones Memorial Radio Club
     for stations outside USA
 5 - extra for QSO as above within USA
 5 - extra for QSO with Melvin Jones Memorial Special Station with callsign
     W7YU/MJM

Logs:

all sent and received exchange are to be logged, including time in UTC and
callsign. If Class II Lions Club Name,Dist No, City/Country

Deadline:

logs should reach Flen Lions Club on or before 15th February. Those who wish
to represent Bangalore North Lions Club will have to submit the logs before
31st January

Awards:

SPECIAL CERTIFICATE for ALL WHO MAKE MINIMUM OF 15 QSO's from the Flen Lions
Club, Sweden, for SWL who submit a log of 15-Bi-Lateral QSO would get this
SPECIAL CERTIFICATE. The first three places in category A and B will receive
trophies, place 4 thur 10 will receive plaques from Lions Club
International, USA. To be eligible for any of the first three places, at
least 10 of the total numbers of QSO must be made with Class II operators,
if the total is less than 10 points/contacts will be reduced from the end of
the log until this ratio is reached

Kindly note that you need not be member of any Lions Club to take part in 
this contest. To receive SPECIAL CERTIFICATE you need not have to contact
any Lion-Hams. All HAMS@WW are invited by myself VU2JHM to kindly represent
Lions Club of Bangalore North, District 324D1 and receive one more special
Participation Certificate plus Special QSL cards for every QSO you make.
