The Jack Files Memorial Contest
===============================

Objects:
--------
- to perpetuate the memory of the late Jack Files, a long time member of
  the WIAQ council
- to enable amateurs to contact Queensland shires and stations to qualify
  for Queensland awards such as the Worked All Queensland award
- to encourage mobile and portable operation in lesser populated towns and
  shires in Queensland
- to provide a warm up for the Remembrance Day Contest
- to stimulate contest activities within a club environment and introducing
  new people to the sport of contesting

Operation:
----------
- single operators may have a log keeper
- club stations are encouraged to have multiple stations. Only one station
  on each band at any one time
- club stations may operate different bands at different locations eg.
  160m 80m and 40m stations may be located in different shires
- cross band contacts are not permitted
- all stations can be recontacted on the same band after an elapsed time
  of one hour. There is no exemption from this rule
- exchange of contact with entrants of a different contest are valid
  contacts. Stations are encouraged to contact VK6 stations during there
  contests.

Bands:
------
160m, 80m, 40m
the DX window of 1.815 to 1.835 should be avoided, interference of 160m
DX operation will not be in the spirit of the contest

Exchange:
---------
each exchange is to contain the following
- signal report
- single Transmitter stations will use sequential numbers starting at 1
  and continue even when changing band. Multiple Transmitter stations will
  use a sequential number starting at 1 for each band
- Queensland stations will give a two letter code indicating the 
  shire/town where located. Example: VK4AA 59001CB; VK2AA 59001
- SWL's must have exchanges and callsigns for both stations

Points:
-------
a valid contact is with any station provided the exchange is correct and
the station has not been contacted within an hour on the same band..
- each valid contact other than VK6 is worth one point
- each VK6 station is worth 2 points
- each Queensland Shire/Town code is one multiplier per band
- each Prefix is worth one Multiplier per band
- mobile/portable stations get one multiplier per band for each Queensland 
  shire/town from which they operate

Final Score:
------------
the total score will be calculated from total valid contacts by
multipliers

example for club station:      
total contacts 160m = 100
total contacts 80m = 200
total contacts 40m = 100
total contact all bands = 400
Multipliers all bands = 50
total score = 400 X 50 = 20.000 points

Logs: 
-----
Logs must show the full name address and callsign of the operator(s), the
section entered, points claimed for each contact, a signed and dated
statement stating the rules and spirit of the contest where followed.

Deadline:
---------
Logs must be received by Monday the 22nd of August

Awards:
-------
Trophies will be awarded to the highest scorer in each of the sections
provided there is a minimum of five entries in that section. Certificates
will be awarded to the highest three scores in each section, the highest
novice and SWL will also be awarded a certificate. Participation
certificates will also be awarded to stations submitting logs
