Does Paul E. McKenney Unfairly Favor RCU?

You had better believe it!!!

Let’s face it — any sane person would have just kicked back, had a beer, watched TV, or whatever. Instead, I chose to beat my head on any number of hard problems surrounding RCU.

Of course, it would have been much easier to have simply argued that the hard problems were unsolvable. But that would have been nowhere near as fun as actually solving them!

Nevertheless, I have it easy. If I suggest some insane use of RCU, the Linux-kernel developers are almost always pretty quick to set me straight. My tendency to favor RCU is therefore almost always rendered harmless.
